It’s always surprising when a questionable product ends up containing health benefits. This certainly appears to be the case with coffee, as many studies have now shown coffee to actually have positive health effects, and less negative effects than previously expected.
Cancer
Coffee has been found to contain properties that actually reduce your risk of cancer. In 2004, researchers determined that coffee drinkers were 50% less likely to develop cancer of the liver. Various other studies since 2004 have shown that coffee may also play a key role in the prevention of colon cancer, breast cancer, and rectal cancer. The next time you decide to avoid the coffee machines at work, think again!
Diabetes
Coffee has also been shown to help prevent the onslaught of diabetes. As coffee has ingredients that cause blood sugar to decrease, heavy coffee drinkers are roughly 50% as likely to become diabetics as people who don’t drink coffee. Furthermore, there may be a positive correlation between coffee consumption and resting metabolism rate, which could further help prevent diabetes.
Gallstones
Coffee drinkers are also at a lower risk of developing gallstone diseases. This is potentially due to the alteration of the cholesterol levels in bile.
Blood Pressure
For many years, coffee has been toted as a product that contributes largely to hypertension. While caffeine does increase your blood pressure when it’s in your system, recent studies have shown that the human body may actually adapt to increased levels of caffeine in the bloodstream. This means that although coffee does tend to raise your blood pressure, this may not necessarily be the case in the long term.
Coffee, while being put down as a health detriment, is actually not as negative as people once thought. Because more recent studies have shown it to not only be less negative, but actually positive, many health professionals are changing their opinions of this controversial beverage. So should you skip the coffee machines and local coffee shops? I wouldn’t be so sure.

Big retailers such as Buy.com and Amazon have embraced a new selling format for shoppers known as deal of the day sales. This is a very unique selling method that shoppers quickly caught on to. This selling model enables consumers to receive great deals on quality products while retailers build brand loyalty. Also, retailers move inventory that probably would have just set around a lot longer than usual.
